as a sunday should be

On a snowy blah day what you want to do is eat eggs. And toast and potatoes and buttery crumbly perfectly glazed scones. As an appetizer of sort, yes breakfast can have appetizers, but if you prefer to call them accompaniments for sounding rather piggish be my guest. Scones are a perfect pre-breakfast nibbly. The lemon was a perfect balance of sweet and acid which left your mouth feeling cleaner than a day at the dentist. The cherry had lovely little nuggets of the sweet fruits with the sugar glaze that balanced their overly sour tendencies.

The lazy jane cafe is a small hole in the wall breakfast joint located on the east side of Madison. Madison, WI, yes i know i'm going out side of the land of the north but really this is just about the same only it's slightly more south and not any warmer or less snowy. So don't all go running with your flip flops and snorkels, maybe a fork because you will want as many utensils as you can get your hands on going to this place. Dig in to the gargantuan amount of frenchy toast with those multiple utensils. Of course you may need more than one mouth because this is one large plate. If you were already sugared out from the scones go for the savory eggs, bacon and potatoes plate and you won't be unsatisfied. Maybe while you're shoveling fork after fork or food in your mouth try to sneak in some sips of delicious hot chocolate or my favorite the good old latte. Tried and true and brewed to coffee perfection.

Although this place may look like there is an impossible line to get through, be patient my dear Madisonians, they are all waiting for a reason and you won't be sorry when you find out what that reason is.
